Paid for by Michael G Grace For MWRD. A copy of our report filed with the State Board of Elections is (or will be) available on the Board's official website (www.elections.il.gov) of for purchase from the State board of Elections, Springfield, IL.
Michael is currently serving his third term as the Vice President Trustee of the South Lyons Township Sanitary District (“SLTSD”). In his first election, Michael surprised the competition and beat out the incumbent Trustee to secure his place at a Trustee of the SLTSD. At that time, the District’s infrastructure was in complete disarray. Severe flooding and infiltration and inflow negatively affected nearly 80% of the District. Additionally, the District was operating with a deficit.
Grace spearheaded a five million dollar overhaul to the SLTSD’s infrastructure. After presenting the overhaul project to the State, the SLTSD was granted a one million dollar grant to revamp the Districts infrastructure. Old sewers were replaced, new manholes were installed, streets were repaved, and new landscaping was put in place as part of the project. All of that work was completed by our unions.
The SLTSD is currently running with a surplus. The infrastructure overhaul project was fully paid off and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) is fully funded. The SLTSD now meets and exceeds all state requirements and regulations resulting in the MWRD now using the SLTSD as the prime blueprint for successful operations for all other Districts in Cook County.
Michael brings three terms of public service directly related to and involved with MWRD. Additionally, Grace is licensed to handle category three (grossly contaminated) water. He currently holds his WRT license through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). In addition to his technical and infrastructure experience, Michael has extensive financial experience. Grace is a sole business owner of a mitigation company and has been an active member of the Chicago Board of Trade (CME Group) for over 25 years.
Michael is an active volunteer with the Misericordia Heart of Mercy and St. Cletus Parish. He has been a Little League baseball manager and SPFL football and basketball coach for 15 years. If elected, Michael will continue to support and engage our unions and will represent the people of Cook County with integrity and experience.
Please vote Michael G. Grace for MWRD!
